We had to search for an online source for newborn cloth diaper rentals since the last shop we used closed down. I was really hesitant about doing this online but it's all been so simple and straight forward. The diapers are new and I'm just shocked by that! Where do the used diapers that get returned go? This type of diaper is similar to the larger all-in-one Thirsties that we have for when our little guy gets bigger. We've had a few wet diapers really soak him but our son is on the smaller side, currently 6lbs so I'm thinking once he puts on a few pounds the diapers will fit a lot better and hopefully less soaks. When the diapers need to be washed I do two full cycles, one hot and another warm with my homemade laundry detergent powder. I've done this with all of our cloth diapers and then run it through the dryer on low heat. I don't use desitin or any kind of diaper cream like that with cloth diapers either. But this is a great option for people wanting to get into cloth diapers! I've definitely recommended this website already.
We've used this deal for both kiddos now. It is a good deal, not great, but good (and better than anything else out there). No real reason to buy newborn diapers since they only last several months, so renting is certainly preferred. The diapers are very nice, and we own the regular AIO Grovia shells with inserts (by far our favorite).
IMPORTANT: These diapers aren't great until the umbilical cord falls off, which is fine, and normally only takes a couple days. I would recommend disposables until then (fold easily under the chord).
We really loved using the lightly used newborn diaper rental. It was perfect for those early months when baby was so tiny. The Thursties diapers were so absorbent and great quality. I was really grateful to use a product that made early newborn days more eco friendly
Love using cloth diapers for my little one. These fit my newborn just right and I didn't have to cover the costs of purchasing a whole set that will only be used a few months. The price was reasonable and so far have been easy to use. Highly recommended.
I live in AK where shipping takes forever, but the preloved diapers arrived in plenty of time before my baby was born (3 days early). Diapers were a little big at first (baby just under 7lbs), and when she kicked her legs the cloth bumped into her umbilical stump. We mostly used disposables until her stump fell off. Once we could make the full switch we were all very happy! The diapers still looked loose around her thighs at first, but always contained poopy messes (disposables didn't). The cotton is not wicking but is very absorbent and we never saw diaper rash. Baby outgrew these diapers just after two months (13 lbs), the same time she started fitting well into one size cloth diapers. We are packing up our rental diapers to send back, and want to send a big thank you to everyone at Sweetbottoms. This was the perfect way to get started. It gave us time to try a few different types and brands of one size diapers on our actual baby and figure out which ones to invest in.
