The cup is inserted in the vagina where it is kept in place by a vacuum and the vaginal muscles. On average you will need to empty the cup 2-4 times per 24 hours. The Lunette™ menstrual model 2:
Is recommended for women who have a heavier flow. The diameter is 46 mm (1.8 inches) by 52 mm (2 inches). The stem measures 20 mm (0.8 inches). The volume of the cup is 30 ml (1.0 fl oz).

Size 1 is made from softer silicone than size 2.
  • Congratulations, you’re a Lunette lady now! Before you begin using your cup, let’s run through some basics to get you acquainted with your newdevice. Before first use, check that the air holes at the top of your cup are open. Wash your hands and clean the Lunette cup by washing with water and a mild soap. Then boil it in a large pot for 20 minutes before first use. TIP: Place the cup in a wire whisk to prevent contact with the bottom of the pan during boiling, which could damage the cup.

    Wash
First, wash your hands with a mild, un-perfumed soap and water. When using the cup for the first time, you can lubricate it with water or a water-based lubricant to aid insertion.
How to fold Lunette Cup Fold
Fold Lunette in on itself as shown in the picture. To do this squeeze the cup flat then fold it in half so that the rim makes a ‘C’ shape as illustrated here.
How to Insert Lunette Cup Hold
Hold Lunette firmly in its folded position and guide it rim-first into the vagina.
    Insert Lunette Cup Insert
You can insert Lunette while sitting, standing or squatting; spreading your legs will facilitate insertion. You‘ll find the correct position in the vagina by practicing and getting to know your own anatomy. Unlike a tampon, the cup is positioned in the lower part of vagina, but beyond the pelvic bone. In order to avoid leaks, make sure that the cup has opened properly by rotating the cup after insertion.
How to Remove Lunette Cup Remove
To remove Lunette, first wash your hands in clean water and relax your muscles. Break the seal by squeezing the bottom part of the cup until you feel or hear the suction release. Now gently rock the cup from side to side while pulling down. Be sure not to pull it out by the tab alone – this will cause the contents to spill and may cause discomfort. Always pull the cup out while pinching the ridged bottom of the cup. Be careful not to damage the tab or cup with your nails. Tip the contents into the lavatory.
    Rinse and Re-use
Lunette should first be rinsed in cold water, so that menstrual blood does not stain the cup or cause odors. Then, wash Lunette carefully in warm water and soap to clean it sufficiently before reinsertion. Use mild, perfume-free soap for washing or try our Lunette cup wash. When water is not available it’s okay to wipe the cup with toilet paper and/or a Lunette Cupwipe. You can give it a proper wash the next time.
How to Care for Lunette Cup Care
When your period is over, wash Lunette carefully and store it in its own satin bag for proper ventilation, and never store it in an airtight plastic container or bag. Lunette should be cleaned before and after your cycle, and after emptying.

Best invention ever.

I've been curious about menstrual cups for a while. I absolutely hate tampons and pads are so messy. It takes some getting used to, but after using it for a week, I'm never going back. I love that you can just set it and forget it (which is super helpful with and infant and a toddler). I can empty when convenient. I have had zero leaks. I even ran a 5k yesterday with zero issues. I absolutely recommend.

Will never got back to disposable!

It took a couple cycles to get the hang of it, but once I did it was super simple to insert and clean. It's so nice to be able to keep it in all day and not have to worry about changing it out! I am planning on getting another one!

Great product!

Wonderful alternative to buying disposable products every month, easy to use, more comfortable than disposable cups. The tiny air holes are more difficult to clean, even when cleaned after every use but still prefer to any other products I've used.

Size 2

Having never tried a menstrual cup before, I got this specific brand of cup because I had read that it was one of the shorter ones. While it did wonders for keeping accidents at bay (I have a very heavy flow) it wasn't quite short enough to be completely comfortable even when turned inside out. If you have a very low cervix you might want to look at shorter cups than this. Also, while the cup can be kept in place for up to 12 hours at a time I found that on my heaviest days I couldn't go more than 4 hours without a leak. Not an unreasonable amount of time by any means, but just an FYI for gals with a heavier flow. I used to have to use a super tampon and super pad and still had embarrassing accidents. With the cup I am comfortable knowing that I'll have a good 4 hour window in which to go get errands done before needing to head to a restroom again which is a vast improvement over my former situation!

Such a life changing product!

My time of month used to be horrible to say the least. I could never find disposable products that worked for me. They were either uncomfortable or hurt. Switching to a lunette cup has been amazing, its comfortable and very easy to use. No more spending money every month on feminine products that don't even work!
